The reference 25584SA has 2 subsidiary dials at 3 and 9 for the date and day of the week, the aperture at 6 is for the moon phase. It has been nearly 50 years since the creation of the original Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and this iconic watch is now more popular than ever. First unveiled by Audemars Piguet in the 1970s and designed by Gerald Genta who also designed the Patek Philippe Nautilus, the Royal Oak has become a distinctive classic with its distinctive features and its role as a pioneer for a luxury sports watch. The reference 25594SA which specifies the watch is made from stainless steel and 18k yellow gold. This reference has a silver Grand Tapisserie dial, with displays windows indicating the date on the 3 oclock position, the day on the 9 oclock position and even the phase of the moon on the 6 oclock position. The watch has 18k yellow gold hour markers along with 18k yellow gold hands with luminescent inserts. The case is 36mm and slightly thicker than the standard Royal Oak (9 mm), which makes it a very well-proportioned watch and provides terrific wrist presence.
